About

Rolandas Urbonavicius is an independent photographer and landscape architect living and working in Germany. A lifelong passion, photography has been a central part of Rolandas’s life since childhood. Evolving from his early work in color, Rolandas Urbonavicius now primarily employs black-and-white photography and long exposure to interpret the evolving beauty of the natural world. His work explores the flux of the natural world as it mirrors the complexity of human emotions.
“I am deeply drawn to ‘slow photography,’ which infuses nature with a mystical, often surreal, and truly ethereal atmosphere”, – Rolandas Urbonavicius.
Rolandas Urbonavicius uses nature as a profound source of inspiration, creating surreal atmospheres that spark questions about our own existence. His work goes beyond not simple photography, but it’s an exploration of time and space. Each piece serves as a quiet invitation to stop rushing and finally surrender to a sense of peace.
Rolandas Urbonavicius has this incredible eye for shape and scale, pulling out details in nature that most of us would just walk right past. By playing with time and space, he finds perspectives that feel almost hidden. His photos aren’t just images; they’re a break from the constant noise of life – a quiet space where both the artist and the viewer can finally catch their breath.
Having earned over 100 awards in major international competitions, Rolandas Urbonavicius has firmly established himself as a leading voice in the global photography community.
